If you’d like to work out with something similar to more traditional equipment, you can create your own dumbbells.
You can get empty plastic bottles and fill them with sand or water. If that’s too easy for you, you can fill bigger bottles, such as milk jugs, with water, sand, or rocks. Then, use these bottles as you would ordinary dumbbells.
Sandbags are some of the most versatile pieces of equipment in any home gym; you can do carries, snatches, cleans, and strongman exercises with them. What’s more, they cost next to nothing to make.
An old duffel bag, contractor’s bags, and some pea gravel — these are all the things you need to make your own sandbag. Double-bag the pea gravel in the contractor’s bags and tape them up snug.
Creating your own home gym — or at least a few pieces of equipment you’ll add to your home gym — is now within your reach.
