Wall-to-wall carpet has become a very popular option for flooring. However, the wear and tear from day-to-day foot traffic and the occasional spillage can cause your carpet to look old and worn out.

To keep your carpet looking good, you must know how to clean your carpet. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. Therefore, start by conducting routine maintenance for your carpet. Consider vacuuming around two to three times a week.

Oils (Crayon, Makeup, Grease)

First, scrape off as much of the stain as you can using a towel or cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. Then, blot the spot with a clean towel. If the stain is particularly deep, you may need to repeat the process a few times.

Rust

Rust doesn’t occur as abruptly as spillage. Typically, rust builds up over time. To get rid of rust stains on your carpet, start by putting lemon juice on the rust stain and sprinkle the affected area with cream of tartar. Then, gently rub in the solution and let it sit until the rust is gone. Finally, blot the area using a towel or cloth soaked in clean water.
